Welcome to the City of Ventura Purchasing and Contracts Division

The City's Purchasing and Contracts Division has earned the 12th annual "Achievement in Excellence in Procurement Award" from the National Purchasing Institute. This award, which measures innovation, professionalism, productivity and leadership, is sponsored by several national professional associations including the California Association of Public Purchasing officers (CAPPO), The Institute of Supply Management (ISM), The National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP), among others.

Ventura accepts this award with the distinction of being one of thirty-one cities nationwide to have received it five times or more.

To negotiate, purchase and contract in an open, competitive, fair manner; securing maximum value for public funds through ethical, effective purchasing practices and high standards of excellence. Auctions of Surplus Equipment
The Purchasing and Contracts Division manages auctions of materials (equipment and supplies) declared surplus by City Departments. The majority of surplus items are auctioned on the internet and can be found at: http://www.stealitback.com
Notices of public auctions held at the City Warehouse will be published on this web site as they occur (1-2 times per year).
