Community Partnership Granting Program

Proposals due by Thursday, September 11, 2008.

The purpose of the Community Partnership Granting Program is to allow organizations providing social services to the City of San Buenaventura to submit a request to meet significant community needs. The City has set aside approximately $175,000 annually from the General Fund to support services such as recreation, food, homelessness, community education, counseling and medical and legal assistance.

In 2006-2008, twenty-four (24) projects received grants of cash and in-kind contributions ranging from $2,500-$24,500. The City Council has appropriated $175,000 for year one (FY 2008-09), and it is anticipated that Council will appropriate $175,000 for year two (FY 2009-10). Proposals submitted for this funding will be required to comly with the policy and procedures established by the Community Partnership Granting Program Policy and Procedures.

Groups applying for funding must be incorporated as a non-profit, charitable organization, or be chartered as a local unit of an organization so incorporated; and must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and under the corresponding section of the State Franchise Tax Code Section 23701 D. Public entities are also eligible.

Request for Proposal (RFP) packets are available to non-profit organizations with 501 (c) 3 status and to other public entities interested in applying for the 2008-2010 cycle of the City of Ventura Community Partnerships Granting Program.
