There are not enough hours in the day to paint all that inspires me. I feel very luck to be a woman artist living in Ventura, California, with her husband and two kids. I would call my painting style poetic realism, because the paintings are inspired by the visual world around me. Currently, I'm working on a series of beach related scenes. Since my family and I are at the beach every weekend, playing, walking, and surfing. It is only natural selection. The colors of the ocean, sky, and sand are teaming with beauty. I try to get the viewer to see their everyday surroundings with new eyes. One painting idea leads to another. I consider each work as a study. After taking a workshop with artist David Leffel my new media is traditional oils. I use a value study underpainting with thick over thin application of paint and I work dark to light. I try to capture freshness and simplicity and luminosity in my paintings.
