“Mother and Child – Intimate by Nature”
I have had many blessings in my life but the one that stands out over and above them all is the experience I have had as the mother to my children. It has been the one relationship in my life that has been the most fulfilling, the most rewarding, and the one that has given my life the most meaning.
I had both my children when being pregnant was
considered a not so “pretty” thing. What inspires me the most in creating my
maternity portraits today is my desire to change that image forever. Being
pregnant is the time in a woman’s life that I see as the essence of femininity.
It is when we are the most sensual, the most spiritual and the most aware of
life itself. Pregnant women deserve to be honored so much more than our society
allows. Through my work I hope for a greater understanding and appreciation of
what it means to be a woman, capable of bringing new life to this world, and
nurturing that life until her own life ends.
