The City of Ventura offers 8-week softball leagues for $350 per team plus
$12 per game for officials. The City of Ventura offers a wide variety of divisions
as follows:

Softball League Schedules
Schedules will be available for pickup at mandatory managers meetings. Information relating to how the league will be administered, upcoming events, field maintenance reports, and rule changes are discussed at the meeting. In the event the manager of the team cannot attend he/she is required to send a representative of the team to the meeting.Softball game times will be as follows:

Currently the City of Ventura has three facilities with lighted softball fields: Camino Real, Westpark, and Harry Lyon Parks. Softball teams will rotate through the available fields each night they play.

League Format
The City
of Ventura softball league currently utilizes a 8-week league format.
Teams will play 8 to 10 league games depending on the number of teams
in the league. The top 4 teams in each division will advance to a single-elimination playoff the 9th week of the season. The rules and conditions of the City of Ventura softball
program will follow the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation
(SCMAF) Rulebook.
Rainouts/Cancellations
If rain occurs during the day of your game, please call (805) 658-4743 after
3:00pm to determine if games will be played. You will receive a recording
stating if games will be played. Rainout games are made up at the conclusion
of the league. Adult Softball leagues will also be schedule around ASA
and Tri-Valley Girls softball tournaments the first months of June and
July.

Softball
rules and conditions shall follow the Southern California Municipal Athletic
Federation (SCMAF) Rulebook with the following exceptions:
| 1. | All game related fees must be paid before the start of each game. The game will not start until fees have been paid. | |
| 2. | Teams forfeiting a game will be responsible for paying all game-related fees. Forfeit fees must be paid prior to the next scheduled game. Team forfeiting the last game of the league will not be allowed to register for another Ventura league until all debts are paid. | |
| 3. | Teams should be ready for infield practice 15 minutes before game time. Infield practice may be refused if games are running behind. Game time is forfeit time. Games tied at the end of seven innings or 1 hour and 10 minutes will be declared a tie and considered final. | |
| 4. | Roster size is limited to 18 players. Players may only play on 1 team in the same league. Any player determined to be playing on more than 1 team in the same league will be suspended for 1 calendar week. Managers must complete the lineup card prior to the start of each game. First and last names of players present must be given to the scorekeeper before the start of each game. Each player should have picture identification available at every game. | |
| 5. | An official may start a game with 8 players (any combination of 5 players of same sex for Coed teams). At no time can a team play with 6 men in the field on a Coed team. If at game time a team does not have sufficient players, an official may start the game with the home team becoming the visiting team and batting first. If 8 players have not arrived before the bottom half of the inning, the game will be forfeited and all fees paid by the forfeiting team. | |
| 6. | Protests may
only be made on eligibility and application of the playing rules.
Protests cannot be made on judgment calls. The following procedures
must be made to lodge a protest: APPLICATION
PROTEST ELIGIBILITY
PROTEST Eligibility protest against non-rostered players will be determined at the conclusion of the game. If no picture identification is shown or players are not on roster, protest will be upheld. Players without identification at the field will have until the end of the last game, scheduled that evening, to show identification. |

| 7. | All games at Westpark and Harry Lyon Park will utilize a "one-up" homerun rule. A team that hits a homerun over the fence cannot hit another homerun over the fence until the opposing team hits two over the fence. If the first team to hit a homerun, hits another before the opposing team hits two, the player/batter will be called out. | |
| 8. | Players may be added to the roster through the 3rd week at no charge. After the 3rd week players may be added by submitting a $5.00 fee and completing a Player Add form. Players may not be added for post-season play or the league ending tournaments. | |
| 9. | Players must play a minimum of three games to be eligible for playoffs. | |
| 10. | Fifteen individual awards will be given for first and second place. |
