The City
of Ventura offers 10-week flag football leagues for $250 per team plus
$16 per game for officials. Men's and Women's leagues are available throughout
the year with games played at Camino Real Park on Sundays.

wil also be available for pickup at mandatory managers meetings. Information
relating to how the league will be administered, upcoming events, field
maintenance reports, and rule changes are discussed at the meeting.
In the event the manager of the team cannot attend he/she is required
to
send a representative of the team to the meeting.

Football League Format
The City
of Ventura's leagues currently utilize a round robin format. Teams will
play games for 7 weeks, and continue league play with a post season single
elimination tournament to determine an overall champion in each division.
Adult Flag Football Official Rules
| 1. | Teams are limited to 15 members with only 8 players allowed on the field at all times. Teams are encouraged to wear uniforms with matching colors. No metal cleats are allowed. All players must have mouth pieces. | |
| 2. | Games are 25 minutes halves with a 5 minute half time. The first 23 minutes will be running clock, with the last two minutes utilizing a "Two Minute " warning in which the clock stops after every dead ball. The winner of the coin toss will be given the option of offense or defense. The receiving team will start their possession on their 20 yard line. | |
| 3. | Teams will have four (4) downs to advance the ball to the next "zone" (every 20 yards). Touchdowns will be worth 6 points with extra points worth 2 points from the 10 yard line or 1 point from the 3 yard line. | |
| 4. | If the offensive team has not crossed midfield - 40 yard line, the offensive team must declare if they intend to punt or use their fourth down to advance to the next zone. If the offensive team does not make the 1st down, the defensive teams gets possession at the point of the dead ball. | |
| 5. | All players on offense are eligible to receive. The defense may rush as many or as few players as they wish. Blocking is only allowed with open palms, arms extended and elbows within shoulders width. | |
| 6. | The defense must make an attempt to pull the offensive players flag. Any attempt to push the player instead of going for the flag or ball will result in 10 yard penalty and replay of the down. If the defense intercepts a pass, all players on that team must drop to one knee. There is no blocking for a person returning an intercepted pass. Illegal "bumping" or contact 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage will result in a 10 yard penalty and a replay of the down. | |
| 7. | If flags inadvertently detach from the offensive player with the ball, the defensive player may use "one hand" to touch player instead of pulling flag. Flag guarding is not allowed and will result in a 10 yard penalty and replay of down. | |
| 8. | If overtime is needed, each team will get a chance to score starting from their 20 yard line. If a team is behind by more than 34 points anytime during the second half or 17 points with less than 2 minutes left in the game the game will be called. | |
| 9. | Each player must have picture ID available at every game. |
