City of San Buenaventura's 2008-2014 Housing Element
UPDATE
The City of San Buenaventura is in the process of updating its 2000-2006 General Plan Housing Element. The Housing Element is a State mandated document that contains analysis, policies, and programs with the objective to preserve, improve, and develop housing for all economic segments of the community. This document must be periodically updated and submitted to the State's Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
The public and any interested persons are invited and encouraged to participate in this planning effort. Any interested persons wishing to review a hardcopy of the draft document may do so by visiting the Planning Counter at City Hall in room 117. Otherwise, please view updates to the draft online (see Draft 2008-2014 Housing Element posted below).
Public Meetings
The next joint Planning Commission and City Council meeting to discuss the draft Housing Element will be held on August 4, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 501 Poli Street in Ventura (click here for announcement and staff memorandum). The dates and times of future meetings of the Planning Commission and City Council will be announced here. Also, look to this page for the latest updates to the draft 2008-2014 Housing Element .
Stakeholder Meeting
On July 9th, City staff and consultant held a stakeholders meeting to review the Element and discuss topics of interest.

Draft 2008-2014 Housing Element
The Housing Plan (updated July 30, 2008). The Housing Plan sets forth the City's goals and policies with respect to housing, and establishes a comprehensive six-year strategy for the 2008-2014 planning period.
The Technical Report (updated July 30, 2008). The Technical Report provides the background information used in developing Housing Element policies and programs for the 2008-2014 planning period. This report contains the Housing Needs Assessment, Housing Constraints, and Housing Resource section.
